We would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves. We are the PE coaches at LPS! Hopefully your child’s favorite people! We are excited about teaching your child how to move efficiently and safely at Lakewood Primary School. Throughout the school year we plan for your child to participate in and explore a wide variety of developmentally appropriate activities that promote a lifelong, healthy level of physical fitness. It is our personal mission to help each child discover physical activities that he or she may enjoy both at school and at home. Our overall goal is for your child to develop a love for movement that continues throughout a lifetime. We would like for each of our students to learn concepts of fitness, nutrition, sport and motor skills, and the rewards of maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle.
First and foremost, we want the children to play and have fun! We also must ensure a safe and orderly learning environment. In order for this to take place we need students to:
wear tennis shoes daily, show respect to others, take care of the equipment, and adhere to coaches’signals. We will not allow children to bring food, drinks, gum, candy, or toys to the physical education classes. We encourage them to make good choices and show sportsmanship at all times. Students’ consequences for not adhering to daily rules and procedures will include friendly verbal reminders, time out from the activity, walking the line on Fridays, and behavior slips sent home to parents
Here is a list of some of the things we will do through out the year!
